Meet Dr. Nikki Kemper, Psy.D.
Dr. Kemper is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Arizona. She graduated from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL in 2018 with both a Master’s and Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Kemper has worked in prison, hospital, inpatient substance abuse, and private practice settings where she gained extensive experience in treating individuals with a range of co-occurring mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, personality, and addiction disorders. She has a passion for helping people within the LGBTQ+ community, as well as individuals with a history of trauma/abuse, relationship troubles, and grief/loss issues.
Dr. Kemper utilizes various evidence-based therapeutic techniques including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Attachment based therapy. Additionally, she has an affinity for using art therapy techniques with clients who are interested in exploring this method of treatment.
Dr. Kemper has been working with individuals who have experienced trauma, mental health conditions, and other life stressors for years. Throughout this time she has found that her compassionate, nurturing, and nonjudgmental approach has been the key to building a relationship in which she can work together with her clients to help them heal and move towards a healthier and more satisfying life. She believes that is her greatest honor to assist those who are on their healing journey in life.
Dr. Kemper is an Arizona native who returned to the Valley after completing her formal education and training in Illinois and Texas. She enjoys painting, reading, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her spouse. She also frequents Northern Arizona where she enjoys hiking, spending time in nature, and escaping the Valley’s heat waves.
